IDE co-director, Andrew McAfee, moderated a panel at the World Economic Forum 2021 on Delivering the Reskilling Revolution. The panelists–Asheesh Advani, Mariéme Jamme, Ryan Roslansky, Majid Jafar, Saadia Zahidi, Leena Nair Yse– are NGO and corporate leaders striving to train workers in critical job-creating skills. With soaring unemployment rates, “skills are the new oil… fueling jobs, growth, and economies.”
McAfee emphasized the need to use technology to uplift workers and to create more economic equality. “We need to rethink the way we’re providing those skills and use tech to be part of the reskilling revolution.”
